With service fees at an all-time high, there is definitely value at the lower end of the stallion market.

One of those such stallions is our very own resident stallion Whittington who from only 19 individual runners has soared into the Top 5 1st Season Sires List by winners.

It is a very good achievement and if his latest winner is anything to go by there will be plenty more in years to come as his numbers at stud increase. In taking out the QTIS 2 and 3-year-old maiden on Monday Bold Style demolished his rivals and ran sizzling time.

In bringing up his 6th individual Whittington he also now sits in 4th Position on the Australian 1st Season Sires list by runners to winners for stallions who have had 5 or more runners. He will stand at Grandview this season at the entry-level price of $6,600 Inc. GST.

Alongside Whittington will be Group 1 winning stallion Under The Louvre who will stand this year also at $6,600 Inc. GST.

Whittington continues to get fast horses who perfectly suit the Queensland market. With an increase in numbers on the ground over the next 3 years he looks set to become a leading stallion in the Queensland market.

The progeny of Whittington have proven to be quick and from a far lesser amount of race performers than many of his fellow first season sires he has performed very well.

With a number now making their return to the track from early season 2-year-old campaigns the last 2 months of the breeding will see his number of winners grow considerably.

With his progeny selling up to $180,000 he is both a commercial and breed to race stallion. He stands the 2019 season also at $6,600 inc. GST.

Our Group 1 winning stallion UNDER THE LOUVRE is definitely a stallion who breeders can send their mares to knowing he throws a type. He achieved at the highest level on the track and there is no reason he can’t produce progeny that are fast who can compete at the same level he raced at throughout his career.

When his first yearlings hit the sales ring early next year they will do so without the hype of the more fashionable stallions but his appeal will be that he produced season upon season at the highest level.

That fact is now starting to become an important facet for a stallion after years of breeders wanting to use lightly raced stallions.

He stands this breeding season at an outstanding fee of just $6,600 inc. GST
